Greater Grand Rapids Figure Skating Club

The Greater Grand Rapids Figure Skating Club (GGRFSC) was founded in 1972 to promote the sport of figure skating in West Michigan. The club is affiliated witht US Figure Skating (USFS), the national governing body of figure skating. GGRFSC adheres to all USFS guidlines, rules, and regulations. The USFS' mission is to foster skating for all to enjoy at any skill level.

Patterson Ice Center's Skating Director, april Treado, is also the GGRFSC skating director. Whether for the pure joy of skating, as recreation or in competition, FFRFSC provides lessons for its members, to improve and mature in the sport we love.

GGRFSC played host to the 2006 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. The National Champion synchronized skating teams in each division are chosen at this event which determines the teams to represent the United States at the World Synchronized Skating Championships.

The 400 skaters who participated in the 2009 U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships were hosted by GGRFSC on our home ice at the Patterson Ice Center. 

GGRFSC hosted 200 skaters at the 2012 Midwestern Adult Sectional Figure Skating Championships at the Patterson Ice Center.  

GGRFSC is a member of the Detroit Metro Council, Michigan's Interclub Council for Figure Skating Clubs.
